A Busy End To The Week - Sunday December 15th 2024

As a result of a late night and possibly too much to drink I didn't get up until gone half past 2 on Monday. The shame of it. At the last couple of Scarlet Vixens gigs at RSAC I've set up the PA then come home and gone back to pack away. This has made me feel a bit like a caretaker and my uniform arrived.Over the weekend I managed to sit on my new reading glasses and a lens popped out. Took them into Boots and picked them up on Tuesday morning. Picked up the picture framing from Ralph's and dropped off another. Filled in my tax return and was surprised I'm due a refund. Went for shingles and pneumonia jabs on Wednesday morning. Pneumonia is a one off but I'll need another shingles in 6 months time. Did a ride out down the end of The Warren and up through the golf course in the afternoon to test out my helmet camera. The results are a bit shaky as you might expect but would probably be OK if the camera angle was a bit higher and music helps distract. Did about 10 miles. James popped round to pick up his pizza steel and mandolin. M went to see Gladiator II at the Biscuit Factory with Mandy and Fiona. In the evening I went to see Tongue Depressor at South Street. This was one of Ben Sandiford's High Vibes gigs, the first one I've been to. They were supported by Colossal Letdown, just a chap called Charlie Butler, he didn't have any instruments just a load of pedals and a pad thing to generate noise I guess. Just one song for half an hour. Tongue Depressor played 2 songs in half an hour, the first featured bagpipes and the second harmonicas, the other chap played cassette tapes. Not usually my cup of tea but I enjoyed it all the same. The short sets probably helped. Showed my video to M when I got back, she thought the video was too shaky. A lazy day on Thursday, did a bit of deep cleaning in preparation for Christmas. It was first Thursday drinks in the evening at the Hop Leaf which meant 5 pints of Summer Lightning. On Friday afternoon had a rehearsal at Pirate with  Tony and Andy. In the evening baby sat all three grandkids at no 81 as James, Amy and Tom were at a do at Josh and Vicky's. Sally was at a works do. On Saturday walked over to no 81 to pick up the car. Did the Christmas tribute night in the evening. We did I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day as the grand finale. Went back in there on Sunday to do the sound for the Sunday Alternative Christmas bash. Thought it was going to finish about 5 but that's when it actually started so didn't get back until after 7 30.
