A Trip To London and M's Graduation - Sunday July 21st 2024

Amy went for an interview at King's College in London on Monday morning. We looked after the kids round here with James. She got back around midday so they had lunch and went home. Had a HCTS meeting in the evening in the Biscuit Factory. Had a great day up in London on Tuesday. M was at the National Archives in the morning and I did a walk along the river in that area. They were doing some filming in a car park but wouldn't say what it was for. Then in the afternoon she was at the National Gallery to view more documentation. I walked along the river again from Embankment to Tower Bridge and back. Did about 13 miles overall. We then met up with Sally's friend Charlotte who wanted some advice from Margaret about working in politics. Popped over to No 81 on Wednesday afternoon to help James oil the decking but decided it would be best to give it a going over with the pressure washer first. Went swimming on Thursday morning. M's printed thesis arrived.Had a hair cut and bought some hopefully non-squeeky walking shoes. In the evening went to see Progress Theatre's production of The Importance Of Being Earnest in the abbey ruins.
It was M's graduation on Friday afternoon. She was one of the first up as PhDs were done first.Caps were doffed. Had a  great meal after at the Valpy Street Bar and Bistro. On Saturday afternoon we looked after Madeline and Owen then James and Amy came over for pizza. Went to a HCTS meeting on Sunday afternoon then back again to RSAC early evening to show a new guy the ropes with sound system.
