More COVID - Sunday September 22nd 2024

Matthew Bradbrook came round to service and fix the gas fire in the kitchen. He's a very nice chap and very helpful. Did my Theale, Pangbourne, Mapledurham ride after. Ordered some lanyards for the RSAC sound team. Went swimming on Wednesday morning then cycled to No81 and back to help with some shifting. We now have lanyards.
The deal by URZ by Rob Couhig has fallen through. Went to the dentist on Thursday morning to see about the rather large filling that fell out about a month ago. It needs to be replaced at a later date. Did my Playhatch ride in the afternoon. Some interesting artwork being done in Thames Valley Park down by the river. We were supposed to have a tribute night rehearsal in the evening but Tony is still testing positive. The government guidelines say if you dont have a temperature it should be OK but Andy mixes with a vulnerable old lady and said he'd rather not. M went to the Biscuit Factory to see Lee with Mandy and Fiona. Mandy stayed over. We looked after Madeline on Friday. We walked to the museum and back in the morning. She had got a pushchair and baby doll for her birthday. We then found out James had tested positive for covid so we volunteered to hang on to Madeline and cook tea for them all. I took her to the Robert Hewlett park in the afternoon.
Tony tested positive for covid on Saturday morning so we pulled out of tribute night. We thought about doing it as a duo but I decided against it. Then Zac offered to step in on bass but by that time Andy had bought tickets for the ELO tribute at the Hexagon. It went well but some of the sound was a bit dodgy. 4 acoustic instruments through instrument mics with no sound check or visibility of who is playing what? Alison McNamara opened the show and Danny was also there. Lazy day Sunday.
