LLandynan to Reading - March 1st 2020

Convenient to be in Wales on St David's day.
Wynn was going to do a Sunday lunch and we had talked about going for a walk beforehand.
In the end nobody else was up for it but it was a lovely sunny morning so I went by myself.
I thought I'd go up a path that goes round the back of the house and either do a loop round or come back the same way depending on the time as lunch was scheduled for 1pm.

It was pretty steep on the way up but easy terrain so I decided I would have time for the loop.
Quite spectacular up there.

It should have been quite straight forward to get down but it wasn't very well sign posted so I missed a couple of turnings. In the end I got back with about 10 minutes to spare. It was a good walk. Anne and Wynn also said they'd got a bit lost up there when they first moved here. I was glad I had my OS Maps app. Wynn bought it whilst I was up there.
Sunday lunch was excellent. They had done 2 chickens in case everyone wanted legs or breast. The chickens had been slow cooked in the aga and were very succulent. Great selection of veg as well, sprouts, cabbage and broccoli and roasted potatoes, parsnips and carrots with herbs and garlic. The marjoram tasted good. We'll have to try growing some.
There was a nice bottle of red to wash it down with but unfortunately I wasn't drinking.
Set off about 2 pm and remarked that Llangollen looked like a nice place that we need to explore a bit more in the future. Particularly some of the pubs.
The journey back was straightforward and not as congested as on the way up.
We had been planning to visit Martin in hospital the next day but on the way back we got a call from Norilyn and she didn't seem to think it would be a good idea.
Got back about 5 30. Unpacked had a beer, pottered a bit and settled down to watch telly about 7.
