Popped over to Prospect Park on Monday morning with Tom and Edith to meet James, Madeline, Owen and Warren. Sally was working. We then went off to buy another Christmas tree as the first one was dropping its needles if you looked at it. Went into town with Tom and Edith after. Tom and Sally went to The Last Crumb in the evening to meet up with the old crowd. On Tuesday morning we went over to no 81 and did a variation of the Tilehurst loop walk. Met Ross for the first time, seems like a nice bloke. Had a pint of 6X in The Butchers which wasn't great and had the most minimal of Xmas decorations. Doubt if I'll go back. The nearby post box on the other hand........
SET moved to Keith and Fionas for a couple of days. Anne and Wynn arrived later. They stayed at an Air BnB in Field Rd. We had a meal at Cote then went to Derek and Steve's party.
Popped over to The Fox and Hounds on Christmas Day morning and met up with Tom, Sally Edith and lots of Wises. Met Pheobe for the first time (Anna and Jack's daughter). Then over to no 81. I got a meal for 2 at Faulty Towers in my secret santa and a pizza steel from M. We had very nice Welsh shoulder of lamb for lunch provided by Wynn. Got a cab back about 8pm. Anne and Wynn came in for a night cap. We hosted a sit down meal for 12 adults, Madeline and Edith on Boxing Day. Owen had a nap.
Had nibbles and champagne outside to start with. Then 3 chickens with all the trimmings. Followed by 2 varieties of Christmas pud and a lime cheesecake. Then cheese and port. Went well. Played the kazoo game and a game of hearts with Tom, Sally, Anne and Wynn after everyone else had left. On Friday Anne and Wynn went home. We drove out to Stanford Dingley with James, Madeline, Ross, Warren and Mary Ellen. Went for a short walk followed by a pint in The Bull. In the evening we all went to the Rising Sun for a meal. Warren and Mary Ellen's treat. SET went home on Saturday. We went up to Oxford with JAMO and the Canadians. Had a look round the Natural History and Pitt Rivers museums and lunch in The Rickerty Press. Went to a party at Rob and Anj's on Sunday afternoon.
