Festival Visitors - Sunday August 25th 2024.

 A good start to the day on Monday, made blackberry jam and it actually set.

Put a new seat on the downstairs loo. What fun. Went swimming on Tuesday morning. Trimmed the jasmine. Did an old style evening ride on  Wednesday with Kelvin, Andy and Stuart. Went out to the SOX brewery which I wouldn't recommend then fish and chips in  Woodcote which I would. £11.10 though? Then back in the dark to the Fox and Hounds for a couple of pints of Jaipur. Went over to no 81 on Thursday for tea. James had made a cake for M's birthday next week.
On Friday I took JAMO to Heathrow for their trip to Canada. Pete arrived late afternoon with Jo, granddaughter Ivy and her friend Angel. We went to the Rising Sun and stayed up too late. On Saturday they went to the festival. It was chucking it down early on but it cleared up and they stuck it out. A good time was had. I popped round to Tony's for a rehearsal. Another late night. They set off back about midday on Sunday.

Blackberry Picking - Sunday August 18th 2024

 Mainly tiding up after the events of the weekend on Monday. We had a power cut in the afternoon for a few hours. It was another hot day. Chilled on Tuesday. M went to Mandy's in the evening with Fiona. Steve came round to help me finish off the Ferryman's Gold left from the Kelly do. The plan on Wednesday afternoon was to take Owen to the Royal Oak, however it was raining so we opted for the Tyler's Rest. Not a great pub, don't think I'll be going back. Got absolutely soaked in the way back. One of those occasions where you are so wet it no longer matters. Went swimming on Thursday morning then admin and music. JAMO came over on Friday for tea. Owen insisted in taking 2 rings home.

Went to URZ first home game of the season against Wigan with Ralph. Played well and won 2 0. Did the sound at RSAC in the evening for Theo Mizu and Banda. Very lively and personable Brazilian band on the last but one gig of a tour. Accordion,  bass and drums. Reasonable crowd and a bit of dancing. First ever triangle solo. Went blackberry picking on Sunday.

Here Comes The Sun - Sunday August 11th 2024

On Monday and Tuesday I spent most of my time trying to finalise stuff for HCTS artist and equipment wise. On Wednesday Tony popped round for a practice. Me and M went swimming then me and Tony played at the Foresters open mic night.
I think we played Little Red Rooster, Spider Abd The Fly and one other. Mainly housework on Thursday in preparation for weekend guests.
Spent all day down at RSAC on Friday getting ready for the festival. Anne and Wynn arrived early evening and we went to the Rising Sun for a meal. Up bright and early on Saturday for the festival itself. All went pretty smoothly and a good time was had by all especially those dancing to the Skandal at the end who were excellent. A reasonably early rise on Sunday too to go over to no 81 to help James and Amy prepare for the Kelly gathering. That also went very well and had a full turnout apart from Chris and his family and Sally who was at a rival Wise do.
