Shed Building - Sunday May 18th 2025

They put the windows and doors in the shed on Monday but no glass yet.

Electrician also put the basic wiring in. I bought some shelving units. Had a hygienist appointment on Tuesday morning then went over to no 81 to help James with some hedge trimming. Picked up a router I'd ordered for the shed on the way back from Screwfix. In the evening I cycled to The Ship in Wokingham to meet up with old Northgate chums Ian Hutchins, Mark Killick, Dominic Lucas and Penno. Me, Ian and Dom then cycled over to Farnborough for a pint in The Prince of Wales before me and Dom got the train back. Roads a bit busy round there but the last bit of the journey, mainly off road in the dark and lost, was great fun. We only just made it for a very swift before heading off to get the 10 45 only to find it was cancelled so back to the pub for another then got the 11 44. They were very helpful in the pub. They wanted to close up but could see we still had half full glasses so gave us plastic ones to finish the beer outside. Took this on the way back. They had plasterboarded the office part of the shed on Tuesday and the plasterer arrived at 7 30 on Wednesday morning. They also started putting up the cladding.

Had a tribute night rehearsal in the evening with Tony, Andy and Sarah. Went swimming on Thursday morning. The windows are in and cladding's nearly all up.

Me and M went to see Three Hens In A Boat at Reading Rep in the evening. First time we'd been. Pretty good. First half OK,  second half really funny but that's how the story unfolded. Scenery was good. OK venue, went on the no 17. The shed men didn't come on Friday as they had to work on another job. I had bid for some speakers on ebay for RSAC on Thursday and found out I'd won. I was the only bidder so got them for the minimum price. Hope they're OK. Judy, Mike, Ralph and Sue came round for pizzas in the evening. Put some mesh grills over the air vents in the front and side walls on Saturday as the mouseman reckoned field mice could get in through there. James and Amy popped round in a new car they were trying out. They all came round later for lasagne including Warren and Mary Ellen who are over. Mandy popped round on Sunday morning. Took Warren and Mary Ellen to the Black Horse in the afternoon for a swifty before tea.
